Kato Gouves is the largest settlement in the Pediada province and is the capital of Gouves Municipality in Heraklion administrative district. It is located near the foothills of Ederi small mountain. The word “Ederi” is considered to come from “hedera” which means ivy and is a symbol of affection.
The area is lowland and sparsely populated.The diverse coastline offers many possibilities depending on the preferences of the visitor. In Kato Gouves the visitor can find shops, restaurants, cafes, bars, supermarket and convenience stores, shops for car and motorbike rental, ATM, pharmacy, medical center. The esplanade of Kato Gouves with the wide sidewalk and a length of approximately three kilometers is a great place for a walk.
